Your workforce skills — mapped automatically, without a survey

Skills Map auto-extracts skills from CV, HRIS, and LinkedIn for every employee. Then guides each person through a structured self-evaluation to validate and enrich their profile. In weeks, you have a living skills inventory — without running a single survey.

The problem

Skills data that’s wrong before it’s even used

Most organisations have skills data somewhere. The problem is it was never accurate to begin with — and nobody has updated it since.

Self-reported and unverified

The skills in your HRIS are what employees entered on a form — what they wanted to claim, not what they can demonstrate. There is no verification layer.

A snapshot that ages immediately

Annual skill reviews take months to run. By the time results are ready, the person has changed roles, picked up new skills, or left. Every decision starts months out of date.

No complete inventory to work from

Without a full, current skills picture, you can’t identify gaps, match people to open roles, prioritise L&D investment, or answer the basic board question about workforce readiness.

Phase 1

Auto-mapping — three sources, one unified profile

Skills Map extracts and reconciles skills data from every source you already have — without asking anyone to fill in a form.

Source 1

CV & Resume parsing

Upload or connect your ATS/HRIS to auto-parse every employee’s CV or resume. Skills are extracted, normalised against the 60K+ taxonomy, and placed into the unified profile automatically.

Supports PDF, DOCX · All languages · Deduplication built in
Source 2

HRIS import

Connect your HRIS — Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Personio, Factorial, and 100+ others. Existing skills, roles, tenure, certifications, and org structure sync automatically on first import and on a schedule thereafter.

100+ HRIS integrations · Bidirectional sync · Role and team hierarchy
Source 3

LinkedIn profiles

Parse current role, previous experience, certifications, and endorsements from LinkedIn profiles. Surfaces skills employees have that don’t appear in HRIS records — particularly tech skills and recent training.

Optional · Employee-initiated or HR-imported · Enriches HRIS baseline
Phase 2

Guided self-evaluation — validate and enrich in under 15 minutes

Each employee sees their auto-mapped profile and completes a structured validation — not a blank form, a guided flow built on what the system already knows about them.

  • Confirm or adjust auto-extracted skills
The system shows what it found. The employee confirms, removes, or corrects. No starting from scratch — just validating what’s already there.
  • Rate current proficiency (0–5)
For each confirmed skill, the employee rates their current level against the standardised 0–5 competency scale. These self-assessed levels become the baseline before verification.
  • Add skills the system didn’t detect
Free-text search against the 60K+ taxonomy. Employees can add skills from certifications, side projects, or recent work that didn’t appear in the CV or HRIS.
  • Flag skills actively in use vs. historical
Mark which skills are used daily vs. ones from a previous role. This separates active capability from historical experience — a distinction most skills data ignores entirely.

What you get

A skills inventory that powers everything else

Skills Map is the foundation layer. Every other Anthropos product — assessment, development, workforce intelligence — runs on top of it.

Complete skills inventory
Every employee has a unified profile — auto-mapped and self-validated — within 2–4 weeks of kickoff. No survey. No manual data entry.

Role benchmarking from day one
Every profile is automatically compared against the 18,000+ role benchmarks. Gaps are visible immediately — before any simulation runs.

One shared language for skills
CV data, HRIS exports, and self-assessments all resolve to the same 60K+ taxonomy. No reconciliation. No manual mapping between systems.

Ready for intelligence and assessment
Skills Map is the input for Workforce Intelligence heat maps, AI Readiness scoring, and the skills verification flow that runs through AI Simulations.

Common questions

Frequently asked

What HR and CHRO teams ask before starting a skills mapping project.

How long does it take to get a first skills map of our organisation?
Most customers have an initial skills map live within 2–4 weeks of kickoff — based on CV and HRIS auto-mapping alone, before any self-evaluations run. The map enriches progressively as employees complete their self-evaluation and simulations run. You don’t need to wait for 100% coverage to start making decisions.
What if our HRIS skills data is poor or incomplete?
That’s the common starting point. Skills Map doesn’t depend on your HRIS skills data being accurate — it uses CV parsing and LinkedIn to build the initial profile regardless, then uses the self-evaluation to fill gaps. Many customers find the Skills Map provides more accurate data in 4 weeks than years of HRIS maintenance.
How much time does the self-evaluation ask of employees?
Under 15 minutes for most employees. Because the system already shows an auto-mapped profile based on their CV and HRIS data, employees are validating and adjusting rather than building from scratch. The guided flow is structured by skill category, so there’s no blank form to fill.
What’s the difference between a self-assessed skill and a verified skill?
Self-assessed skills show what the employee claims — their own rating of their proficiency. Verified skills are scored through an AI Simulation — an objective assessment of what the person can actually do in a realistic work scenario. Skills Map builds the self-assessed baseline; AI Simulations (Phase 3) add the verification layer on top.
Does Skills Map push data back into our HRIS?
Yes. Bidirectional sync is supported for 100+ HRIS systems. Verified skill levels — from simulations — can be written back to your HRIS on a schedule you configure. The skills taxonomy used for sync can be mapped to your existing HRIS skill codes during implementation.
