About This Simulation
Your mission in this simulation
Your Role
Junior Web Engineer
Your Goal
Stabilize banking app release amid technical and cross-functional team challenges.
Simulation Details:
NeoBank is a fintech leader specializing in online-only banking, known for its innovative mobile app and strong customer satisfaction. Since its founding in 2015, NeoBank has rapidly grown by offering real-time transaction notifications, AI-driven budgeting, and seamless user experiences. The company expanded into enterprise banking, attracting major clients like GlobalTech Inc., and relies on a robust technical infrastructure built with Vue.js and Node.js, supported by AWS for high scalability and reliability. Agile cross-functional teams drive fast-paced development, enabling NeoBank to quickly respond to market demands and maintain a reputation for quality and innovation, even under intense competition and high-stakes launches.
You step into the role of a Junior Web Engineer at NeoBank during a critical app release. Your mission is to stabilize the flagship banking app by resolving urgent technical issues and navigating cross-functional pressures. First, collaborate via chat with a Front-End Developer to diagnose and fix performance problems in the app, providing mentorship and ensuring solutions are correctly applied. Next, engage in a one-on-one chat with a Product Designer representing Sales, negotiating the feasibility and timing of a key feature promised to enterprise clients. Finally, present your launch recommendation in a voice call with the Product Designer, addressing concerns and confirming next steps. After these interactions, you will summarize the outcomes and decisions in a single text document for your manager.
To complete the simulation, you must:
- Confirm with the Front-End Developer that technical issues are resolved and the app is stable.
- Reach an agreement with the Product Designer on the delivery plan for the requested feature.
- Present your final recommendation and secure alignment on next steps in a voice call.
- Prepare one clear text document summarizing resolved issues, the agreed feature plan, and next actions for launch.
Once you completed all the tasks, save the required final document in a PDF or DOCX and send it to your manager.
