Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you need to know about Anthropos — how it works, who it’s for, and why it’s different. Browse by topic or scroll down for the most common questions.
What is Anthropos?
Anthropos is a skills intelligence platform that helps companies map, verify, and develop workforce skills. The platform combines a 60,000-skill taxonomy, AI Simulations — immersive workplace scenarios where people interact with AI actors to demonstrate their abilities — and Skill Paths for structured learning.
The result is a single platform to understand what skills your people have today, verify those skills in realistic conditions, and develop the gaps with targeted training. Anthropos is used by mid-market and enterprise organizations in financial services, technology, energy, and the public sector.
What are AI Simulations?
AI Simulations are interactive workplace scenarios where participants take on a specific professional role and work through a realistic challenge — a client negotiation, a technical architecture review, a compliance escalation, a quarterly close under audit pressure.
Participants interact with AI actors via voice calls, chat, and document tasks. The simulation evaluates both technical and soft skills simultaneously, producing verified competency data rather than self-reported claims. Sessions typically run 30–45 minutes and are available in 9 languages.
Who uses Anthropos?
Anthropos serves two main audiences:
- Talent Acquisition leaders and Engineering leaders use Anthropos Hiring to assess candidates for technical and business roles — reducing interview time and improving hiring quality.
- CHROs, HR leaders, and L&D teams use Anthropos Workforce to map skills across their organization, verify workforce capabilities, and develop people with targeted programs.
Ideal companies are 500+ employees in financial services, technology, energy/utilities, and the public sector. Anthropos's largest deployment covers 9,000 people in a single organization.
How long does it take to get started?
Most customers are up and running within weeks, not months. The platform comes with a pre-built library of 300+ simulations and a 60,000-skill taxonomy, so you can launch without building anything from scratch.
Custom simulations — built to match your specific roles, culture, and scenarios — can be created using Anthropos Studio or with support from the Anthropos team. ATS and HRIS integrations through one of 100+ connectors are typically completed in days.
What languages does Anthropos support?
Anthropos supports 9 languages for both the platform interface and AI simulation actors, including voice call conversations. This allows multinational organizations to run consistent assessments across geographies without compromising the realism of the simulation experience.
Custom simulation content can be configured for additional language requirements — contact the Anthropos team to confirm availability for your specific languages.
Does Anthropos integrate with our existing HR systems?
Yes. Anthropos integrates with 100+ HRIS and ATS platforms. Key integrations include:
- HRIS: Workday, SAP SuccessFactors, Personio, Factorial
- ATS: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Teamtailor, iCIMS, SmartRecruiters
Integrations allow you to trigger simulations automatically when a candidate reaches a specific ATS stage, and to sync verified skill scores back to your HRIS. SSO (SAML 2.0 / OIDC) is supported for enterprise deployments.
Is Anthropos GDPR compliant?
Yes. Anthropos is GDPR and CCPA compliant. All customer data is processed and stored in the EU (AWS EU-West-1, Ireland). Anthropos has a Data Processing Agreement (DPA v1.4) covering 18 approved sub-processors.
Candidate and employee data is never used to train AI models. Data is automatically deleted 90 days after contract termination, and individuals can request deletion of their data at any time. Anthropos is also SOC 2 compliant.
How is AI-based assessment different from a personality test?
Completely different. Personality and psychometric tests ask people what they would do in a hypothetical situation. Anthropos simulations put people in a realistic situation and observe what they actually do.
Scoring is based on a rubric — specific behaviors, decisions, and outputs evaluated against defined criteria. Results are directly tied to job performance, auditable, and free from the bias patterns that affect survey-style assessments. Anthropos is classified as Limited Risk under the EU AI Act precisely because evaluation is deterministic and rubric-based — not black-box inference.
Can we build custom simulations for our specific roles and scenarios?
Yes. Anthropos Studio lets you create fully custom simulations — define the scenario narrative, customize AI actor personas and goals, select skills to evaluate, set evaluation criteria, and upload your own company documents for context. You can generate a first draft from a job description in minutes.
For teams that prefer it, Anthropos offers guided content creation support where the Anthropos team co-builds simulations based on your requirements.
What makes Anthropos different from HackerRank, Eightfold, or LinkedIn Learning?
Each of those tools does one thing. Anthropos does all three — map, verify, and develop — in one platform:
- HackerRank / CodeSignal: Test algorithms in isolation. They don't capture how engineers collaborate, handle ambiguity, or communicate under pressure.
- Eightfold: Maps skills using AI inference from résumé data. Doesn't verify skills through actual performance.
- LinkedIn Learning / Pluralsight: Deliver video content, but offer no verification or hands-on practice tied to your specific business context.
Anthropos is the only platform where a candidate or employee can be mapped, tested in a realistic scenario, and then developed — with all data in one place, syncing to your HRIS.
How accurate is the AI scoring?
Anthropos uses a rubric-based scoring system — not black-box AI inference. Each simulation has a defined evaluation plan specifying which behaviors and outputs indicate each level of competency (0–5 scale). AI analyzes participant actions against this rubric and produces a score from 0–100.
Competency levels are mapped to score thresholds: Level 3 requires >75, Level 4 requires >85, Level 5 requires >95. Because evaluation criteria are explicit and programmatic, results are consistent across participants, auditable, and can be reviewed by your team at any time.
What industries is Anthropos best suited for?
Anthropos is used across financial services, energy and utilities, technology, professional services, and the public sector. The platform performs best in industries where:
- Role complexity is high and skills are hard to verify through a CV or traditional interview
- The cost of a wrong hire or under-qualified team is significant
- Workforce transformation — especially AI readiness — is on the executive agenda
Customers include large European railways, energy utilities, global banks with 9,000-person deployments, semiconductor companies, and technology firms.
