Nimble operates in fast-paced, high-stakes markets where balancing speed and thoroughness is essential to uphold its reputation and achieve strategic growth. You step into the role of Project Manager at Nimble, tasked with resolving a conflict between two senior engineers working on a high-priority financial software feature. One engineer is focused on rigorous documentation to prevent technical debt and ensure compliance, while the other prioritizes rapid delivery to beat competitors to market. Your mission is to engage in separate, real-time chat conversations with each engineer to uncover their concerns, negotiate a balanced solution, and secure individual agreement. Once both engineers are on board, you present the joint proposal to the Engineering Manager via a voice call, ensuring the solution aligns with company strategy and receives her endorsement. - Successfully identify and address the core concerns of each engineer through one-on-one conversations. - Negotiate a compromise that both engineers explicitly agree to. - Present the agreed solution to the Engineering Manager in a voice call and obtain her approval. - Demonstrate effective conflict resolution and negotiation skills to keep the project on track and maintain team morale.
