Your Goal
Mediate workflow, then report the solution to your manager after acquisition. Simulation Details: NexTel is a top telecommunications company, recognized for its high-speed data services, enterprise VoIP systems, and advanced AI customer service tools. Its flagship AI chatbot, NexBot, has significantly improved customer satisfaction and response times. NexTel recently launched a successful 5G pilot in major US cities, achieving impressive speeds and reduced latency, and is now preparing for a nationwide rollout to support smart city IoT solutions. As part of its growth, NexTel acquired CommTech Solutions, a company known for secure communication protocols and a highly reliable cloud collaboration platform, SecureSync. CommTech’s strength lies in its rigorous code review and security processes, which have ensured near-perfect reliability. Integrating NexTel’s agile, fast-paced communication with CommTech’s structured, quality-focused workflows is essential for the company’s strategic goals and continued market leadership. You are the Team Manager responsible for integrating the workflows of NexTel’s agile team and CommTech Solutions’ structured team after a recent acquisition. Your task is to mediate between two key developers—one who is protective of structured, rigorous processes and another who is ambitious and favors agile, high-visibility practices. Through one-on-one voice consultations, you will uncover their concerns and motivations, then negotiate a blended communication workflow that respects both teams’ strengths. After reaching an agreement, you will present your proposed solution to your manager via chat, ensuring it aligns with NexTel’s strategic objectives for 5G and IoT development. - Hold individual voice consultations with each developer to understand their perspectives and negotiate a balanced workflow. - Present the agreed-upon workflow to your manager in a chat conversation, explaining how it supports both teams and company goals. - Demonstrate conflict management and negotiation skills by resolving tensions and aligning team practices with organizational priorities.
