Context

Lumo is an innovative company founded in 2012 in Milan, specializing in the development of mobile apps with intuitive design and cutting-edge technologies. Among its main successes is "LumoLife," a personal wellness management app that has over 5 million monthly active users and an average rating of 4.8 stars. Lumo stands out for its commitment to digital inclusion, having received the "Digital Inclusion Award" in 2022 thanks to features that improve accessibility, such as screen reader support and dynamic contrast adjustment. Currently, the company is working to further improve the accessibility of "LumoLife" for visually impaired users, addressing challenges such as button labeling and intuitive navigation, while maintaining its distinctive visual identity.

In the role of Product Designer, you will guide the process of improving the accessibility of the "LumoLife" app. You will interact with three key stakeholders: Alessia Moretti, Marketing Manager, who will help you preserve the brand's visual identity; Marco Bellini, Senior Software Engineer, who will evaluate the technical feasibility of your proposals; and Lorenzo Rinaldi, Design Team Lead, who will supervise your work and provide strategic feedback. Your mission will be to gather the main requirements through targeted conversations with stakeholders and propose a design solution that balances accessibility, visual identity, and technical feasibility. You will need to negotiate solutions, build consensus, and demonstrate that inclusivity can coexist with high-quality design.

  • Speak with Alessia Moretti to understand priorities related to visual identity and gather suggestions on how to integrate it with accessibility.
  • Consult with Marco Bellini to evaluate the technical feasibility of the proposed changes and identify any constraints.
  • Present a design proposal to Lorenzo Rinaldi, integrating the feedback received and demonstrating that the solution meets company objectives.
  • Obtain stakeholder consensus, balancing aesthetic, technical, and strategic needs.
