About This Simulation
Your Role
Event Coordinator
Your Goal
You save Brighton’s retreat by securing a last-minute venue.
Simulation Details:
Brighton Consultancy is a mid-sized organization specializing in corporate event planning, renowned for its annual retreats that foster employee engagement and strategic collaboration. These retreats are meticulously designed to achieve measurable goals, such as improving cross-departmental collaboration and driving innovation. With a 92% attendee satisfaction rate over the past five years, Brighton has earned accolades like the "Best Corporate Retreat Organizer" award, thanks to its use of advanced planning tools and commitment to exceeding expectations. However, a plumbing emergency at the original venue threatens the success of this year’s retreat, requiring quick decision-making and adaptability to overcome logistical hurdles and preserve Brighton’s reputation for operational excellence.
In "Last-Minute Retreat Crisis," you play as the Event Coordinator tasked with salvaging Brighton Consultancy’s annual retreat after the original venue cancels just 48 hours before the event. With 50 attendees already on-site and limited options available, your mission is to secure an alternative venue, adapt the retreat schedule, and ensure critical activities like keynote speeches proceed as planned. You will engage in one-on-one conversations with Rachel Lewis, the CEO, to clarify her priorities and align the revised plan with her expectations, and with Sergio Alvarez, the Venue Representative, to negotiate terms for the only viable alternative venue. Your ability to creatively resolve logistical challenges, prioritize essential activities, and maintain transparent communication will be key to ensuring the retreat’s success.
- Negotiate with Sergio Alvarez to secure the Greenridge Conference Hall as the alternative venue.
- Adapt the retreat schedule to fit the venue’s constraints while preserving critical activities.
- Communicate with Rachel Lewis to clarify her priorities and align the revised plan with her expectations.
- Ensure stakeholder satisfaction by balancing logistical constraints with attendee needs.
